Description

This is a brand new OEM Goodman Amana Janitrol upgraded Inducer Motor. It is rated at 1/38 HP, 115 volts, and 3000 RPM. If the shaft is seen facing up (as in the photo), the rotation is clockwise. It replaces the part numbers listed below.
An inducer motor is designed to expel the exhaust gas from the furnace. Older inefficient furnaces allowed the flue gas to escape the unit with virtually no resistance. Newer high efficient furnace heat exchangers are so restrictive that the flue gases cannot exit the furnace though natural draft. Therefore, the inducer is required to pull the flue gases through the heat exchanger. The inducer motor is usually the first thing that starts up when your furnace calls for heat.
