This is a brand new OEM Rheem Ruud Richmond Vanguard GE upgraded Water Heater Pilot Igniter Assembly. It is a direct replacement for Rheem Ruud Richmond Vanguard. It replaces the part numbers listed below.
The purpose of an ignitor is to ignite the gas after the gas valve opens up. It most cases, the ignitor turns off after ignition has occurred.
